Vintage 1970s skateboard forum

My suspicions too, but I also wonder if a pre production sample? The seller listing as rare although doesn’t elaborate……
Has Adrian any thoughts on this deck ?

it definately looks a benjy shape but as its an unknown entity would it be worth the money? like you say,hopefully somebody will know,when you read the history of benjy though on the net he says the first 3 decks were made of oak but broke so he went onto make one from one solid piece and the one on ebay has a seperate piece added on top of the kicktail,like the white lightenings were made

ideally we need to see pics of another to confirm its a genuine product,even if it was some sort of prototype/test mule there would have been more than one made, or even a pic of one? id stick my neck out and say its legit though as there was also the speed deck that appeared last yr with laminated underside that nobody had heard of and this ones a very early deck due to the benjy script,place your bets please.....

Does anyone know if the guy that made the Benjy decks, Tom Sims, made exclusively for Benjy or made for other companies too. I have a very vague memory of ordering 3 White lightening decks possibly from shiner or the Skate Shop Poole and them being listed as Benjyboard / Lotus when they turned up they were all the same deck but in 3 different sizes when Benjy only made two?
